AI labs are paying for real business records.See what yours could be worth →

For manufacturers

Get paid for what your plant already knows.

Years of work orders, quality records and maintenance logs show how your team turns drawings and raw material into parts that pass inspection. AI labs pay for that kind of record. We license selected records on your behalf, respect customer IP and export rules, and negotiate the best available price.

01 Why AI labs care

What your records show that AI can’t do yet.

AI can describe a tolerance stack. It still struggles with the shop-floor judgment behind good parts: why a lot failed inspection, what changed on the line, which fix actually stuck, and what a machine's history says about its next failure. Your production, quality and maintenance records show that reasoning, shift after shift.

What makes manufacturers’ records valuable

  1. Nonconformance and corrective action records that trace a defect from discovery to root cause to fix
  2. Maintenance histories that link symptoms, repairs and downtime on the same equipment over years
  3. Engineering change records that show why a process or part changed
  4. Connected records across your ERP, quality system, maintenance system and email

02 Workflows

The work with the most value.

Buyers look for complete pieces of work, start to finish. In your industry, these are the strongest.

  • Quoting and order entry

RFQs, cost estimates, routing assumptions and the questions that came up before an order was accepted.

  • Nonconformance and corrective action

Inspection failures, containment, root cause analysis and the 8D or CAPA reports that closed them out.

  • Maintenance and downtime

Work requests, repair notes, parts used and the downtime each issue caused.

  • Engineering changes

Change requests and change orders, the reasoning behind them and how each change reached the floor.

  • Production scheduling

Schedule changes, expedites and material shortages, and how planners worked around them.

03 Connected records

One piece of work, followed end to end.

This is what connected history looks like, and why it’s worth more than any single file.

Illustrative exampleInvented details. Not client data.

A failed inspection, traced to the fix

  1. Quality systemFinal inspection rejects 340 brackets for an out-of-spec hole position on part 7720-B.
  2. Team chatThe quality lead holds the lot and asks second shift what changed this week.
  3. Maintenance logA fixture was swapped on Tuesday. Its locating pin turns out to be worn 0.4 mm.
  4. CAPA reportRoot cause is confirmed. The pin is replaced and a weekly fixture check is added to preventive maintenance.
  5. ERPThe lot is reworked and ships two days late, with the customer told in advance.

Each record is ordinary. Together they show the reasoning that keeps a plant running. Customer names, customer part identifiers and employee details are replaced before anything is shared.

04 Privacy and rights

What stays out, and what’s reviewed first.

Every industry has its own sensitive material and its own rules. For manufacturers, these come first.

Always excluded or removed

Before anything is shared, these stay out entirely or are replaced.

  • Export-controlled technical data and technology under ITAR or the EAR
  • Customer-owned drawings, specifications and other customer IP you have no right to license
  • Controlled unclassified information from defense or government programs
  • Employee personal information, injury and medical details, and payroll
  • Customer and supplier names and contact details (replaced with consistent stand-ins)
  • Passwords, machine and network credentials

Rights reviewed before any records are shared

Export controls

Releasing controlled technical data or technology to a foreign person can count as an export under ITAR or the EAR, even inside the United States. Programs that touch export-controlled work are identified first and kept out.

Customer drawings and IP

Contract manufacturers often work from drawings, specifications and process requirements their customers own, under NDAs or supply agreements. These are reviewed to separate what you own from what you only have permission to use.

Supply and quality agreements

Supply agreements and quality agreements can include confidentiality terms covering production data, pricing and quality records. They shape what can be included and whether a customer's consent is needed.

05 How it works

From first conversation to signed license.

We negotiate on your behalf and manage the process. You approve every term, and you pay nothing unless a license is signed.

  1. 01

    Start with a conversation

Tell us about your business, the systems you use and how far back your records go.

    No files or logins needed
  2. 02

    Agree on what’s in scope

Together we decide what’s included and what stays out. Rights and privacy are reviewed before anything is shared.

    You set the boundaries
  3. 03

    Bring offers to the table

We present your opportunity to AI labs, compare the offers and negotiate price and terms.

06 Questions

Questions from manufacturers.

New to this? Start with our plain-English guide to licensing business data.

We do defense or aerospace work. Can we still take part?

Possibly, but export-controlled and government-controlled information stays out entirely, and those programs are separated before anything else is considered. Commercial work with clear rights is often still a fit. This isn't legal advice, so your export compliance lead or counsel should confirm.

Which manufacturing records are most valuable?

Problems traced to outcomes: a nonconformance with its root cause analysis and fix, or a machine's maintenance history alongside its downtime. Several years of that across products and lines is what buyers look for.

Do you need access to our ERP or quality system?

Not to start. A conversation is all it takes. If you decide to go ahead, the scope you approve decides exactly what's prepared, and nothing is shared until you sign.
