AI labs are paying for real business records.See what yours could be worth →

For e-commerce and retail brands

Get paid for what your brand already knows.

Every supplier negotiation, reorder decision and customer escalation shows how your team runs a brand day to day. AI labs pay for that kind of record. We license selected records on your behalf, keep customer and payment data out and negotiate the best available price.

01 Why AI labs care

What your records show that AI can’t do yet.

AI can write a product description. It still struggles with the operating judgment behind a profitable brand: when to reorder, how to handle a supplier delay before a launch, which return to approve and which to question. Your sourcing, planning and support records show those decisions and what came of them.

What makes e-commerce and retail brands’ records valuable

  1. Decisions with measurable outcomes: stockouts avoided, margins protected, refunds approved or denied
  2. Supplier threads that show negotiation, quality problems and delays being worked through
  3. Customer service histories with macros, escalations and resolutions at volume
  4. Connected records across your store platform, inventory tools, accounting system and email

02 Workflows

The work with the most value.

Buyers look for complete pieces of work, start to finish. In your industry, these are the strongest.

  • Sourcing and supplier management

RFQs, samples, cost negotiations, quality complaints and production delays, with the messages that settled them.

  • Inventory planning

Forecasts, reorder points, purchase orders and the calls made when a forecast was wrong.

  • Launches and listings

Product briefs, listing updates, pricing changes and what happened after launch.

  • Customer service

Tickets, macros, returns and escalations, including how the unusual cases were handled.

  • Marketplace and channel operations

Account health issues, fulfillment problems and the steps taken to resolve them.

03 Connected records

One piece of work, followed end to end.

This is what connected history looks like, and why it’s worth more than any single file.

Illustrative exampleInvented details. Not client data.

A supplier delay before a launch, handled end to end

  1. EmailThe factory reports that 2,400 units of a new SKU will ship 18 days late.
  2. Inventory planPlanners see the launch would sell out in its second week at the current forecast.
  3. Team chatThe team splits the order: 600 units by air, the rest by ocean.
  4. Purchase orderThe PO is amended, and the extra $3,900 in freight is approved against launch margin.
  5. Store dashboardThe launch ships on time, and the ocean freight lands before the first reorder point.

Each record is routine. Together they show the operating judgment that protects a launch. Supplier names, customer details and account identifiers are replaced or removed before anything is shared.

04 Privacy and rights

What stays out, and what’s reviewed first.

Every industry has its own sensitive material and its own rules. For e-commerce and retail brands, these come first.

Always excluded or removed

Before anything is shared, these stay out entirely or are replaced.

  • Customer names, addresses, emails and order-level personal information
  • Card numbers and any other payment data covered by PCI DSS
  • Customer information received through Amazon or other marketplaces
  • Supplier pricing covered by confidentiality agreements
  • Employee personal information and payroll
  • Passwords, API keys and store admin credentials

Rights reviewed before any records are shared

Your privacy policy

What you told customers in your privacy policy matters. The FTC has warned that quietly adopting more permissive data practices, such as sharing data or using it for AI training, can be unfair or deceptive. Customer personal information stays out, and your policy is reviewed first.

Marketplace and platform terms

Amazon and other marketplaces restrict how sellers may use customer information from marketplace orders. Platform terms are reviewed, and marketplace customer data stays out.

Payment data

Card data is governed by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Most brands never store full card numbers, and any payment data stays out of scope entirely.

06 Questions

Questions from e-commerce and retail brands.

New to this? Start with our plain-English guide to licensing business data.

Can we license data from our Shopify or Amazon store?

Operational records like inventory decisions, supplier threads and support macros are often a fit. Customer personal information and marketplace customer data stay out, and platform terms are reviewed before any records are shared.

Which e-commerce records are most valuable?

Decisions with results attached: a reorder call and what it did to stock, a supplier problem and how it was solved, a support escalation and its outcome. Several years of that across products and seasons is what buyers look for.

We're a smaller brand. Do we qualify?

Most licenses involve teams of 20 or more with several years of history. Smaller brands with deep, well-organized records can still be worth a conversation, and the free estimate is a good first check.
